Why is it that when a celebrity talks publicly about a certain topic, the general public automatically thinks?

that they are experts? Most of these people can't even control their own lives much less spread their misinformation across a gullible fan base. Do you see this as a serious problem or are there, in fact, enough sensible people out there to just ignore it?
