Gravel that is composed of rounded pebbles, cobbles and boulders are called conglomerate; but if it is composed of angular fragments it is called breccia; finer rounded particles mostly siliceous materials will turn out as arkose and still finer particles will produce siltstone and the finest still will produce shale.
