Is the DS Lite Obsolete? 3DS looking good?

Okay, so I have a DS Lite. I've had it for a while and am wondering if it is becoming obsolete. I am still finding and buying games for me to play, as I've missed out on a lot. I'm wondering if I should stop buying games for the DS and just save money for a 3DS. This way I can start building my game repertoire from the ground up. Just looking for your thoughts. Thanks!!
