I'm going from SC to TX next week, Suggestions on Site Seeing.?

Hi, I'm traveling from upstate south carolina to eastern (longview) texas next saturday for 5 days. What are some fun, free (or very cheap) places to visit in between....we're going through georgia, alabama, and mississippi.
